We are looking for a Test Engineer to work onsite in Spring Texas 77389  for a 2-year contract position and will designs engineering solutions to test and evaluate systems, equipment, and devices. Position Overview:

Candidate will need to apply developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. They will also work on problems of diverse complexity and scope. Candidate may act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Must have the ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

 

Position Responsibilities:
  • Designs engineering solutions to test and evaluate systems, equipment, and devices based on established engineering principles and in accordance with provided specifications and requirements.
  • Develops and implements test plans, schedules, and requirements for all portions of new and existing designs; designs and provides leadership for outsourced and in- house testing resources building and operating test tooling, fixtures, scripts, automation, and apparatuses.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced testing and development partners regarding testing status, project progress, test results, and issue resolution.
  • Leads a project team of other test engineers and internal and outsourced testing partners to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high quality test solutions for moderately-complex products.
  • Represents the test engineering team for all phases of larger and more- complex development projects.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

 

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Typically 4-6 years of experience.

 

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Using testing tools and software packages to automate test processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of material properties and hardware and electrical component design.
  • Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate testing plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.

 

Requirements (Automation skills is a must have):
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum based development team.
  • Experienced in Qualification, Test planning and execution.
  • Experience working with Automation tools used in test development.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experienced in bug reproduction and troubleshooting of firmware and/or desktop software issues.
  • Familiar with Azure Pipelines, backlogs and artifacts.
  • Experienced in setting up test environments, http, https servers in windows or standalone Linux environments like Raspberry Pi.
  • Familiar with embedded firmware test development and execution.
  • Basic knowledge of windows WMI, multiple disk/drive technologies, and set up of RAID systems.
  • Understanding of PC firmware and BIOS for testing purposes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
