Shred Technician
Job Description
We are looking for a Shred Technician - Document Destruction Specialist in Atlanta, GA. Join our team and play a crucial role in our shredding operations, ensuring secure and efficient disposal of confidential materials. DURATION: 3 months contract
SCHEDULE: M-F, 6: 30AM - 3: 30PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Wheeling and rolling various size bins to granulator and paper shredder areas
- Bin weights: Paper shredding area - max 350 lbs., Granulator area - max 525 lbs.
- Bins equipped with wheels and secured on automated electric lift platform
- Activate lift mechanism to empty bins into granulator/shredder and remove empty bins
- Additional task: Technicians in granulator area may handle electronic media boxes and place them into the granulator
Requirements:
- Protective footwear meeting ASTM F2413-11 standard with a slip-resistant rating of "Better or Best" is mandatory
- Attention to detail and constant awareness of surroundings to ensure safety
- Compliance with all safety requirements, including wearing high visibility vests, safety glasses, and other safety equipment
- Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
- Capability to grip, lift, push, and pull wheeled, plastic bins and manually sort items within the bins without assistance
- Ability to unload boxes from pallets and handle boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. To feed into the shredder or collection area
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects up to 70 lbs.
