Job Description


We are hiring an Automation Engineer at 13650 Promenade Blvd N, Stafford, TX 77477! This role offers a pay rate of $42/hr and is a 1-year contract with potential Temp-to-Perm opportunity. Under minimal supervision and in compliance with company policy, you will execute programming and automation projects, develop new automation systems that reduce time, improve quality, and enhance safety, and work closely with Management and Production to support advanced manufacturing processes for pressure relief products. This position requires expertise in PLC and LabVIEW programming, robotics, CAD design, and process development to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing operations.




Schedule
  • Monday Friday, 7: 00 AM 4: 30 PM




Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead development of new process technology for existing and new products.
  • Design and implement automation systems internally or with third-party support.
  • Create CAD models, BOMs, and drawings for automated system construction.
  • Develop LabVIEW programs and PLC logic to monitor and control processes.
  • Program and configure HMIs and work with robotics platforms for automation deployment.
  • Write software to collect and analyze operational data using SQL, MS Access, and Python.
  • Troubleshoot existing automated systems and industrial machinery.
  • Design tools, dies, and equipment as needed.
  • Train production personnel on new manufacturing processes.
  • Write and update manufacturing and engineering procedures.




Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in programming, automation, mechanical design, and tooling design.
  • LabVIEW programming experience (certification a plus).
  • PLC configuration and ladder logic programming experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (ASCII Serial, Modbus, Ethernet I/P, OPC UA).
  • Python and SQL experience.
  • Experience with collaborative robotics platforms (Universal Robotics or similar).
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD/CAM (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to design and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Operational knowledge of industrial machinery (lathes, mills, presses).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial sensors, actuators, and inspection tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, advanced math, and computer proficiency (ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Windows;Linux a plus).
