RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We are currently seeking an experienced Machinist II to join our team in Houston, TX with $22/hr pay. If you are a motivated individual with experience in equipment operation and a strong work ethic, APPLY NOW!
Work Schedule: Monday Friday (6: 00AM to 2: 30PM plus OT)
Duration: 1 year contract
Job Responsibilities:
- Support a safety culture and promote a "safe to start" mindset.
- Align large rotors, gas components, and parts within tight tolerances for machining, grinding, and runout corrections.
- Program CNC lathes, VTL's, and milling machines.
- Read and interpret documents such as OEM drawings, REI's, Work Instructions, and Digital Routers.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated advanced/expert skill level in machining, including part indication, turning OD's, turning ID's, grinding, and burnishing on CNC mill, CNC lathe, and NC machines.
- Experience supporting Rotor shop and Machine shop based on customer needs, including Steam rotors, Gas rotors, Cases, Gas components, Aero components, and Value rack repairs.
- Ability to operate both Manual machines and CNC machines.
- Experience in Gas turbine repair (HSPT, GE10's, Fr3, Fr5, Fr6, and F7) Rotors and component machining is a big plus.
