Job Description


We are looking for a Procurement Buyer in Austin, TX 78729. This person will assist engineering teams with setting-up new vendors, submitting purchase orders, liaison with suppliers, coordination with shipping and receiving. LOCATION: 7700 W Parmer Ln Building C, 1st Floor Austin Texas 78729

DURATION: 6-month contract  

PAY: $32/hour

 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for working with engineering teams to setup vendors in internal tool(s), creating purchase orders, purchasing materials, components, equipment, supplies or commodity products for delivery at a specified time and location.
  • Assists with shipping/receiving or items, tracks and communicates status.
  • Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
  • Performs purchasing-related financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Entry: Applies basic foundation of a functions principles, theories and concepts to assignments of limited scope.
  • Utilizes professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education or previous experience.
  • Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.
  • Develops expertise and practical knowledge of applications within business environment.
  • Acts as team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts.

 

Education and Knowledge:
  • Although not mandatory, typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or 4 minimum years of related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of buyer/planner functions and general familiarity with electrical/mechanical hardware.

Skills:
  • Tasks will include use of internal procurement tools and processes
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must have excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
  • Must be a quick learner and able to self-drive activities to completion
  • Must be willing to learn new things and able to persistent through confusing processes and bureaucracy.
