Job Description
RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We are seeking an experienced Production Maintenance Mechanic to support the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production operations of our team in Watertown, CT with $35/hr pay for a 5 month contract (temp only). This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You ll Do:
- Maintain and repair production equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled repairs.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and make real-time adjustments while production lines are running.
- Execute smooth and efficient equipment changeovers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively.
- Fabricate or modify equipment to improve line performance and reliability.
- Maintain plant equipment, facilities, and operations to ensure maximum uptime and product quality.
- Document maintenance activities and develop operating and maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Perform daily equipment start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Safely work with equipment that uses chemicals such as caustics, acids, and ammonia.
What we re looking for:
- Production maintenance experience, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and ladder logic.
- Experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley or GE preferred) and Windows-based software.
- Proficient with hand, power, shop, and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with electrical power/control systems, mechanical repairs, and fluid handling.
- Welding, industrial electrical, plumbing, and HVAC experience a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, standing, and walking.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime as business needs require.
- Trade/technical school training or Millwright certification preferred.
- Forklift experience required in some locations.
