Job Description


We are looking for a Tax Analyst for a HYBRID, 6-month contract position. This person will work onsite twice a week. If you have more than 5 years of experience reviewing and managing taxes as well as excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify tax implications, and assess tax positions APPLY NOW!

 

Responsibilities:

         Review and maintain various matrices for sales and purchases across all segments of U.S. Business

         Lead tax exemption certificate compliance & governance for all U.S. Business

         Lead all indirect tax data analytics and governance

         Coordinate with external service provider to complete US sales/use tax, gross receipts and property tax compliance

         Prepare and review responses to state and local authorities for tax audits and notices

         Actively participate in leveraging tax insights to drive effective business support for all U.S. Business units

         Cultivate tax technology and drive the transformation of tax processes

         Research and monitor tax issues, nexus and document conclusions

         Support the various business units in regard to tax accounting such as detailed tax account reconciliations via analysis and review of general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness of amounts/balances

         Train/coach tax associates and interns to grow their leadership as well as functional competencies

 

Qualifications:

         Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.

         Understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements is essential.

         Familiar with federal, state, and local tax codes and must be able to interpret and apply them correctly. Stay updated on tax changes and industry trends.

         Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify tax implications, and assess tax positions.

         Must be able to analyze complex financial statements, identify potential tax risks or opportunities, and propose appropriate solutions.

         Experience in tax planning, including identifying deductions, credits, and exemptions, is valuable.

         Must possess strong research skills to stay updated on new tax legislation, rulings, and interpretations.

         Work closely with internal teams, such as finance, legal, and management, as well as external stakeholders, including tax authorities and auditors. Strong communication skills are crucial to effectively explain tax concepts, present findings, and collaborate with others.

         Must be capable of reviewing financial records, identifying errors or discrepancies, and ensuring accurate calculations and documentation.

         Proficiency in tax software and other relevant tools for tax analysis, compliance, and reporting.

         Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or other tax-related certifications can be advantageous.
